About The Mikvah
The Mikvah building is named Mayim Chaim which means Living Waters. This is a symbol of life, family purity and Torah.
More than four years ago, a group of community leaders came together to plan a new, beautiful mikvah to meet the needs of the growing Jewish community in the Philadelphia area. There was no existing community mikvah and community members needed to travel to other communities. The new Mayim Chaim Mikvah was built with the needs of the local Jewish community in mind. It is a glamorous facility that offers women the opportunity for a deeply moving, spiritual experience - a spa for the body as well as the soul.
Our facility offers the best in comfort, hygiene, aesthetics, and privacy. It boasts a well-appointed waiting room, three luxurious preparation rooms (one of which is equipped for individuals with disabilities), and a uniquely designed women’s Mikvah. The rear portion of the building houses a separate men’s facility. Our mikvah is fully equipped with all the supplies needed in preparation for immersion. Our goal is, to provide a state-of-the-art facility while adhering to the highest level of modesty and concern for the needs of women performing this most sacred mitzvah. The safety and security of the women who attend our Mikvah is paramount. We spare no expense to ensure that women will have a positive experience.
There is also a keilim mikvah for dishes. The mikvah services the expanding Philadelphia County, Lower Moreland, Huntingdon Valley, Bucks County and surrounding Jewish communities.
The beautiful paintings overlooking the Mikvaos are by Michael Muchnick. Local community member Batel Shlain did the Mikvah interior design, decoration and artwork.
