Jewish Men In Black- CBS Community Kollel

Congregation Beth Solomon and Beis Medrash Govoha of Lakewood teamed up together to bring a kollel, religious college into the Philadelphia community. The kollel is comprised of young Rabbis who moved to Philadelphia to be able to study torah and impart their knowledge to the members of the community. The backgrounds of these Rabbis vary; Russian, American, and Israeli to be able to reach out to everyone no matter what language they speak and understand. The Rosh Kollel is Rav Aharon Notis from Lakewood.

The Kollel is available every night to learn with anyone who is interested on any level. One on one learning is also available. 



Meet the Rabbis

Rabbi Aharon Notis,Dean

 Originally from Cleveland, Rabbi Notis is an alumni of Bais Medrosh Govoha of Lakewood.
He is married with 11 children and currently resides in the CBS Community. His wife, Mrs. Dini Notis, is originally from Philadelphia.

                                                                                                                RABBI NOSSON SCHWARTZ                                                                                                                                                                                             

    Rabbi Schwartz was born in Russia in the city of Mogilev-Podolski.  He attended Kol Yakov yeshiva in Monsey, NY.  Rabbi Schwartz is a certified tester of Shatnez.  He is married to Victoria who works as an actuary.  They have two children. Rabbi schwartz lectures during the week in Russian at the CBS Community Center.  Please check our class schedule for more information.

 

 

 


                Rabbi Boruch Shlain                                                          

Rabbi Shlain was born in Belarus in the city of Mozyr.  He attended Aish Hatorah of Kiev and has a masters degree in computer science. Rabbi Shlain is married to Batel who was born in Ukraine in the city of Kiev.  She is a very talented artist.  The Shlain's have two children and are very active in the kiruv aspect of our organization.

Rabbi Eliyahu Bass

Rabbi Bass and his wife, Irit, have moved from Israel to join our kollel. Rabbi Bass was born in the Ukraine in the city of Kiev.  He attended Sinai Academy.  He continued his studies in Tal Torah Yeshiva in Lakewood, karlin Stolin of Boro Park, Yeshivas Zwehil of Jerusalem, Yeshivas HoRan of Jerusalem,Shvut Ami of Jerusalem, and Kolel Ohel Avrohom of Beitar.He specializes in teaching the Hebrew language. 

Mrs. Bass gives a class on Hebrew language and prayer. Please see our class schedule for more information.

Mrs. Irit Bass was born in Russia in the city of Moscow.  She attended Bais Yaakov of Haifa in Israel. Mrs. Bass is an artist who enjoys decorating, food decorating, and is fluent in Hebrew, Yiddish, and Russian.  

 

   


Rabbi Avraham Leib Kremansky

Rabbi Kremansky was born in Belarus in the city of Gomel.  He attended Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY and received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry  from SUNY at Story Brook.  Rabbi Kremansky is a practicing mohel.

Rabbi Kremansky's favorite hobby is hockey. 

His wife, Mrs. Sarah Kremansky was born in the United States in New York.  She attended Horeni Yeshiva and received a Bachelors in Business. Mrs. Kremansky currently works for the Oorah Kiruv organization.

The couple has 4 children. 

 


 Rabbi Reuven Shmulevich

 Rabbi Shmulevich is an active member of our kollel who learns privately with many young men who wish to study with an intense and brilliant chavrusa- partner.  Rabbi Shmulevich was born in the Ukraine in the city of Shargorod. He studied in Yeshivas Tal Torah in Lakewood and has a Masters degree in accounting.

Rabbi Shmulevich is married to Chana Perel who is the director of all the Womens' Rosh Chodesh Events which take place each month.  She also organizes mitzvah meals for new families that move into the community as well as for women who have given birth or are in need of meals for any reason.

Mrs. Shmulevich was born in Russia in the city of Donetsk.  She attended Beth Ulpana yeshiva.

The Shmulevich's have 3 children.

 Rabbi Yaakov Arye Abraham

Rabbi Abraham was born in the United States in the city of Lakewood, NJ.  He attended Telz Yeshiva in Cleveland, Mir Yeshiva in Israel, and Rabbi Bercovitz's kollel in Jerusalem. Rabbi Abraham has a teaching certificate and a bachelor in biblical research. His wife, Cirel, was born in St. Louis, Missouri and attended Bais Yakov, Meor Seminary in Jerusalem, and Maalot Seminary in Baltimore.  

Rabbi Abraham conducts private bar mitzvah lessons for boys ages 11 and 12 who are preparing for their bar mitzvah.  He also runs a Shabbos Pirchei group for boys ages 4-13.  The boys learn the parsha, listen to interesting stories, play games, sing songs, and enjoy refreshments.  This program is every Shabbos from 3:30 - 4:15 PM.  Rabbi Abraham plays the guitar and keyboard and enjoys music and art. The Abraham's have 2 children.

Rabbi Dovid Goldenberg 

 Rabbi Goldenberg was born in the Ukraine in the city of Berdichev.  He attended Berdichev Yeshiva and teaches a Hebrew reading class.  Please check our class schedule for more information on that class.

Rabbi Goldenberg is married to Chana who was born in the Ukraine in the city of Kiev.  She attended Rabbi Bleich's school and Yavne Seminary in Cleveland, Ohio and enjoys cooking.

The Goldenbergs have 4 children.
